Phytosterol Esters is a kind of light yellow oily paste at ambient temperature, and will be clear oily liquid above 80ºC/176°F. It is produced by esterification of free plant sterols with fatty acids. Because of the significant effect of lowering serum cholesterol, it is widely used in foods and dietary supplements. It can also be used in cosmetics serving as skin care nutrient, humectant and emulsifier.
