Pancreatin is a mixture of digestive enzymes, obtained from porcine pancreas glands. Its main ingredients are lipase, amylase and various proteases. The enzyme pattern of porcine pancreatin displays substantial consistency to human pancreas secretions. This makes pancreatin exceptionally suitable for use in medicinal products designed to replace human digestive enzymes decreased by pancreatic disorder. It can help digest protein, starch and fat.
