Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate is a white monoclinic crystalline powder that is soluble in dilute hydrochloric, nitric and acetic acids, slightly soluble in water, and insoluble in ethanol.

It is mainly used in the food industry as mineral nutritional enrichment and quality improvement of bread, confectionery, cereal, grain products, etc. It is also a gelling agent for carrageenan and alginates.
