Our Empty Pullulan Capsules provide a premium, natural, 100% plant-derived capsule shell designed for oxygen-sensitive, moisture-sensitive, and high-value formulations.
Produced through the natural fermentation of tapioca starch by Aureobasidium pullulans, pullulan is a water-soluble polysaccharide known for its exceptional oxygen-barrier properties. Pullulan capsules provide an oxygen barrier up to 300 times greater than HPMC capsules and 9 times greater than gelatin capsules, helping protect sensitive ingredients from oxidative degradation.
This enhanced protection makes Pullulan Capsules especially suitable for delicate active ingredients, vitamins, botanical extracts, essential oils, and other formulations where product stability is critical. By helping limit oxygen exposure, the capsule shell can support formulation integrity and shelf-life performance without relying on synthetic additives or antioxidants.
