Hi-Q Marine Biotech Co., Ltd was established in 1998—a professional biotech company pursuing the goal of “Nature Protection and Health Promotion.” Hi-Q’s founders are Mr. Johnson Chang (CEO & Chairman) and Mr. Philip Hsieh (Vice Chairman & CTO). Philip Hsieh has been engaging in green aquaculture practices and research & development of fish farming since 1978. With very rich experience, applied technology and the successful use of biotechnology, Philip has developed many patented aquaculture products and formulation as well as significantly improved the breeding of various types of fish and shrimp.
Hi-Q has successfully developed ecological aquaculture technology, a "Zero Water Exchange" technology, which is the key technology of Hi-Q's indoor "Zero Water Exchange Ecological Re-circulating Aquaculture Technology (ERAT)."
Hi-Q's R&D team has found that adding brown algae into the breeding baits formula is very important to groupers' immune systems. Due to this discovery, Hi-Q has been devoted to the R&D of Taiwan's brown algae since 2007 and has been cooperating with the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) of the Council of Agriculture (COA) in the Industry-Academia collaboration Project to successfully extract Taiwan's low molecular weight fucoidan. With these efforts, Hi-Q started to branch out into the field of human health products.
