Phosphatidylserine (PS) is made from the biological reaction of highly active enzyme and lecithin. PS is an active substance presented in brain cells, and its main function is to improve nerve cell function, to regulate nerve impulse conduction, and to improve brain function and memory. Because it's highly lipophilic, PS can be absorbed through the blood-brain barrier into the brain very quickly. Therefore, it can relieve vascular smooth muscle cells and increase blood supply to the brain. Phosphatidylserine is the most recently discovered new "smart nutrients" after choline and "brain gold" DHA. Because of its unique features and bioactivity, PS has become the intelligent nutrient with the most development potential. On October 21, 2010, the former Chinese Ministry of Health added Phosphatidylserine into the New Resource Food catalog.
