Echinacea is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family - Asteraceae. Resembling a black-eyed Susan or purple coneflower is a North American perennial that is indigenous to the central plains where it grows on road banks, prairies, fields and in dry, open woods. It is also known as the American coneflower. Echinacea has a variety of design and color ,with high ornamental value , also can be used as me--dicine . Echinacea extract is derived from aerial part of echinacea purpurea (also called purple coneflower) by ethanol solvent extraction. Echinacea purpurea extract is brown yellow or yellow green powder. The main active ingredients are polyphenols, which include chicoric ccid, echinacosides, cafftaric acid and chlorogenic acid.
