White Paper outlines how the new B-2-B e-commerce platform will utilize testing, analysis, review, disclosure, traceability and customer meetings to ensure product quality and safety.

La Mirada, CA — Nov. 20, 2015 — ingredientsonline.com, the first B2B e-commerce marketplace that enables U.S. customers to buy nutritional raw materials directly from leading global manufacturers announced a Transparency Program to further its commitment to product quality and safety through testing, analysis, review, disclosure, traceability and face-to-face meetings between customers and overseas manufacturers.

In a White Paper posted on its web site (Click here to read), ingredientsonline.com spelled out its program and its commitment to work with the natural products industry to continuously improve standards and guidelines that promote transparency and traceability.

“Transparency is the new imperative for our industry,” said Sherry Wang, President of Green Wave Ingredients, which exclusively manages ingredientsonline.com. “We want to be the leader in ensuring that customers have as much knowledge and information as possible about the products they are buying. And we want to ensure that our factory partners fully disclose how they are meeting industry standards for quality and safety.”

The Transparency Program begins with the fundamental premise of ingredientsonline.com: an e-commerce marketplace where buyers communicate directly with overseas manufacturers, with prices and other critical information posted on the ingredientsonline.com website. Helping to facilitate transparency is the fact that ingredientsonline.com is a service provider: it earns a fee from manufacturers on each transaction and does not represent suppliers or earn a profit from the sale of their products.

The White Paper, titled A Transparency Program for the Nutritional Raw Materials Factory-Direct Marketplace, (Click here to read), outlines a process that includes all GWI departments, and labs and testing operations at the company headquarters in La Mirada, CA, in Shanghai, China, and at independent, 3rd-party testing facilities.

The program focuses on transparency and traceability in seven (7) areas:

1.  Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
2.  Factory Information
3.  Customer Service
4.  Marketing
5.  Internal
6.  Price
7.  Inventory

In addition to processes currently in place, the Program includes plans for new safeguards, including a significant investment in equipment and personnel to guarantee product shelf life—an area of quality control where manufacturer performance is often inconsistent and unreliable.

Since launching, ingredientsonline.com has signed partnership agreements with more than 50 leading manufacturers in China. Meanwhile, more than 1,000 U.S. companies have registered to buy products from the site’s Chinese factory-partners. Ingredientsonline.com projects more than 120 Chinese partners and more than 3,000 U.S. companies will be using the service by yearend.

ingredientsonline.com replaces the current manual system used by the industry, in which buyers negotiate transactions over the phone with brokers, who control quality, product inventory and availability.

The U.S. nutritional and dietary supplement market is $35-billion-a-year industry that includes such products as vitamin C, glucosamine, CoQ10 and other antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids.
